Product information "TGFbR2, Recombinant, Human, aa190-567, GST-tag (TGFBR2, TGFR-2, Tranforming Growth Factor-beta Recep"
This gene encodes a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family and the TGFB receptor subfamily. The encoded protein is a transmembrane protein that has a protein kinase domain, forms a heterodimeric complex with another receptor protein, and binds TGF-beta. This receptor/ligand complex phosphorylates proteins, which then enter the nucleus and regulate the transcription of a subset of genes related to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Marfan Syndrome, Loeys-Deitz Aortic Aneurysm Syndrome, and the development of various types of tumors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa190-567 from human transforming growth factor beta receptor 2, fused to GST-tag at N-terminal, expressed in Sf9 Insect cells. Molecular Weight: ~69.9kD, Applications: Suitable for use in studying protein binding, receptor activity, and screening small molecules. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
