Anti-XIAP (X-Chromosome linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis)

The human X-chromosome-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein XIAP is a major member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family (1). XIAP functions by direct binding and inhibition of several caspases, including caspase-3, caspase-7 and caspase-9 (2,3). There are three BIR (baculovirus IAP repeat) domains in XIAP: BIR1, BIR2 and BIR3. BIR2 has been shown to be important for the binding and inhibition of caspase-3 and caspase-7 (4,5), and BIR3 is a specific inhibitor of caspase-9 (5). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% nonfat dry milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
