Product information "Anti-Tau (Tau Protein, Microtubule-associated Protein Tau, MAPT, Neurofibrillary Tangle Protein, Pai"
The microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) coassemble with tubulin into microtubules in vitro. Microtubule-associated protein tau appears to be enriched in axons. Tau are composed of 352 to 441aa. The isoforms differ from each other by the presence or absence of 29-aa or 58-aa inserts located in the N terminus and a 31-amino repeat located in the C terminus. Tau is important in establishing and maintaining neuronal morphology and is a major component of the neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) characteristic of Alzheimer's brain. Microtubule-associated protein tau (MTBT1) is mapped to chromosome 17q21. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1-2ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with 1.2% sodium acetate . Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
