Anti-SOCS1(Suppressor of Cytokine Signalling 1, Janus kinase (JAK) binding protein, STAT-induced STA

SOCS-1, also called Janus kinase (JAK) binding protein (JAB), or STAT-induced STAT inhibitor (SSI-1), is an SH2-domaincontaining protein. It was shown to interact with all four Jak kinases (Jak1, Jak2, Jak3 and Tyk2) and is induced by and inhibits the signaling action of IL-3, IL-4, IL-6, growth hormone, LIF, prolactin, interferon gamma (IFN-g), and erythropoietin. It plays an important role in the negative regulation of IFN-g signaling and in the differentiation of T-cells. SOCS-1 mRNA is highly expressed in the thymus, to a much lower level in spleen, and not expressed in most other tissues. Biochemical characterization as well as gene disruption studies indicate that SOCS-1 is an important negative regulator of the JAK-STAT signal pathway. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Controls: Mouse thymus cell lysates and HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma lysate. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
