HMGB3, also known as High mobility group protein B3, is a DNA associated protein that binds preferentially single-stranded DNA and unwinds double stranded DNA. This transcription factor belongs to the HMGB family and high mobility group (HMG) protein superfamily and contains two HMG box DNA-binding domains. Like other members of the family, HMGB3 plays a fundamental role in DNA replication, nucleosome assembly and transcription. Other functions include regulation of balance between hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal and differentiation and may also be required during embryonic development. HMGB3 is predominantly expressed in placenta. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 3-5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Mouse placenta, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
