Product information "Anti-c-myc (Myc, myc-1), clone 0.T.95"
c-myc is involved in the control of cell proliferation and differentiation. Translocation of the c-myc locus on chromosome 8 to the immunoglobulin loci on chromosome 14 (heavy chain), 2 (k light chain), or 22 (l light chain) is described in Burkitt's lymphoma and other B-cell lympho-proliferative conditions. An aberrant expression of the c-myc gene occurs in tumors of different origins such as colorectal, gastric, gallbladder, hepatic, mammary, ovarian, endometrial, head and neck, pulmonary, prostatic, thyroidal, oral, ocular, nasopharyngeal, endocrine, as well as hematopoietic neoplasms. Applications: Immunoblotting: 0.5-2ug/ml detects c-myc in HeLa nuclear extract. HeLa nuclear extract was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-Myc Tag (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Immunocytochemistry: Reported to detect c-myc-tagged proteins in transfected cells. , Immunoprecipitation: 4ug immunoprecipitates c-myc from 500ug of HeLa nuclear extract. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
