Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is a proinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the IL-1 superfamily. IL-18 works together with IL-12 to induce cell-mediated immunity following infection, and IL-18 is also able to induce severe inflammatory reactions, which suggests its role in certain inflammatory disorders. Mouse IL-18 Recombinant Protein is purified interleukin-18 produced in yeast. Protein function: Augments natural killer cell activity in spleen cells and stimulates interferon gamma production in T-helper type I cells. [The UniProt Consortium]
