Product information "Anti-dimethyl-Histone H4, clone"
Histone H4 is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N-terminal tail H4 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. Acetylation of histone H4 occurs at several different lysine positions in the histone tail and is performed by a family of enzymes known as Histone Acetyl Transferases (HATs). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.01-0.1ug/ml detects methyl-histone H4 in HeLa acid extracts. Minimal crossreactivity with unmethylated recombinant Histone H4 is observed if used at these concentrations., Immunohistochemistry: Stains Drosophila polytene chromosomes as reported by an independent laboratory., Immunoprecipitation: Immunoprecipitates methly-Histone H4 from HeLa cell lysates as reported by an independent laboratory., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo, I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
