Anti-XIAP Associated Factor 1 (XAF1, X-Chromosome linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis Associated Factor 1)

XIAP is an endogenous inhibitor of cell death, which functions by suppressing caspases 3, 7, and 9. The protein is also reported to play a a role in the activation of NF kappa B and the regulation of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs). Regulators of XIAP activity include XAF-1 and Smac. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and paraffin). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2.0ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 2ug/ml, Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections., Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Reagents: Sheep anti rabbit IgG: HRP, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
