The Toll-like receptor (TLR) family in mammal comprises a family of transmembrane proteins characterized by multiple copies of leucine rich repeats in the extracellular domain and IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain. Like its counterparts in Drosophila, TLRs signal through adaptor molecules (1). TIR8, also know as single Ig IL-1 receptor, is a member of the IL-1:TLR superfamily (2). TIR8 acts as intracellular decoy to inhibit NF-kappaB activation by members of the IL-1:TLR family (3, 4). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human or mouse kidney, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
