Product information "Anti-PPM1A (Protein Phosphatase 2C alpha, PP2Ca, Protein Phosphatase 1A, Protein Phosphatase 2C Isof"
Protein phosphatase 2C alpha (PP2C-alpha) dephosphorylates proteins with some preference for phosphor-threonine over phospho-serine residues. It is insensitive to PP1 and PP2a inhibitors such as okadaic acid, but has an absolute requirement for either magnesium or manganese ions. PP2c-alpha and can be activated by unsaturated fatty acids, such as arachidonic and oleic acid. Overexpression of PP2C-alpha causes G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis that has been associated with the activation of p53. Dephosphorylation of proteins in the nucleus by PP2C-aplha is suspected to play a role in terminating or reducing the sensitivity of the responses to SMADs and stress-activated proteins such as p38 and JNK. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
