Product information "Anti-Pancreatic Polypeptide"
Pancreatic polypeptide (PP) is an 4kD, unglycosylated member of the Neuropeptide-Y family of secreted peptide hormones. Human PP is synthesized with a 29aa signal sequence and a 66aa prohormone that contains the 36aa PP hormone, a 20aa icosapeptide of unknown function, and a C-terminal prosequence. PP is produced by pancreatic islet F-cells and released to the circulation following a meal. It slows stomach emptying time and insulin secretion and is thought to inhibit further food intake. The human PP prohormone shares 57-55aa identity with mouse and rat PP, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
