0.5mg/ml with 1% BSA and 0.01% sodium azide if reconstituted with 0.2ml sterile 1XPBS.... more
Product information "Anti-Neurofilament 200 (Heavy), clone N52"
0.5mg/ml with 1% BSA and 0.01% sodium azide if reconstituted with 0.2ml sterile 1XPBS. Neurofilaments are composed of 3 neuron-specific proteins with apparent molecular masses of 68kD (NFL), 125kD (NFM), and 200kD (NFH) on SDS-gel electrophoresis. It is thought that phosphorylation of NFH results in the formation of interfilament cross bridges that are important in the maintenance of axonal caliber. Genomic clones for the largest human neurofilament protein were isolated, the intron/exon boundaries mapped and the entire protein-coding regions (exons) sequenced. Mutations in neurofilaments have been linked to some forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease(CMT). Protein function: Neurofilaments usually contain three intermediate filament proteins: L, M, and H which are involved in the maintenance of neuronal caliber. NF-H has an important function in mature axons that is not subserved by the two smaller NF proteins. [The UniProt Consortium]
