Anti-GluR1a (Glutamate Receptor)

The metabotropic glutamate receptors have been organised into three groups. mGluR5 and mGluR1 make up group I which, when activated, stimulates phospholipase C and activates protein kinase C to hydrolyse phosphoinositide phospholipids in the cell membrane. Group I mGluRs, but not other groups, are activated by 3, 5-dihydroxyphenylglycine (DHPG). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000. Detects bands of ~125kD (monomer) and 250kD (dimer) on lysate from transfected HEK293 cells. It has also been reported to dtecst bands at ~120kD (reduced) and 210kD (non-reduced) in protein extracts from adult rat cerebellum., Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:500, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
