Anti-GABA(A) Receptor alpha 1 antibody is directed against rat GABA(A) Receptor alpha 1 protein. The antibody is affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. Labeling is absent in ?1-subunit knockout animals. Reactivity is expected from the following species based on 100% sequence homology: bovine, canine, human, mouse non-human primate. Protein function: GABA, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate brain, mediates neuronal inhibition by binding to the GABA/benzodiazepine receptor and opening an integral chloride channel.
