eIF4E is a eukaryotic translation initiation factor that is involved in the direction of ribosomes to the cap structure of mRNA's. There are two forms of eIF4E: a free form (25kD) and as part of a multi-protein complex (eIF-4F). The free form seems to not be as plentiful, compared to the other initiation factors and acts as a rate limiting step of initiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, 11c7entrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
