EHMT1, also known as EUHMTASE1, is a histone methyltransferase. This protein methylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3 in vitro. H3 'Lys-9' methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression by recruiting HP1 proteins to methylated histones. EHMT1 is Probably targeted to histone H3 by different DNA-binding proteins like E2F6, MGA, MAX and/or DP1. During G0 phase, it probably contributes to silencing of MYC- and E2F-responsive genes, suggesting a role in the G0/G1 transition of the cell cycle. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 , Western Blot: 1:100-1:500, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
