COCO, also known as DAND5, Dante, and CKTSF1B3, is a member of the DAN Domain family of BMP antagonists that includes DAN, Gremlin, PRDC, and Cerberus. COCO binds and inhibits Xnr1, BMP-4, Activin, and Wnt8. It is implicated in gastrulation and embryonic left-right axis formation. Human COCO shares 60% and 24% aa sequence identity with mouse and Xenopus COCO, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 2-8ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Mouse myeloma cells with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, E.coli- derived, recombinant human DAND5 (aa23-189). Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
