In 1X PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.09% sodium azide. CD80, or activation antigen B7-1 (formerly referred to as B7) provides regulatory signals for T lymphocytes as a consequence of binding to the CD28 and CTLA4 ligands of T cells. Protein function: Involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T- lymphocyte activation. T-cell proliferation and cytokine production is induced by the binding of CD28, binding to CTLA-4 has opposite effects and inhibits T-cell activation. [The UniProt Consortium]
