Anti-Apolipoprotein M (ApoM, G3a, HSPC336, MGC22400, NG20, NG20-like protein)

Apolipoprotein M (ApoM) is a member of the lipocalin protein family. It is found associated with high density lipoproteins and to a lesser extent with low density lipoproteins and triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. It is positively related to leptin. It is mainly expressed in liver and kidney. ApoM is secreted through the plasma membrane but remains membrane-bound, where it is involved in lipid transport. It is important for the formation of prebeta-HDL and cholesterol efflux to HDL, and thereby inhibits formation of atherosclerotic lesions. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:16000, Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human Placenta lysates, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
