Product information "Anti-Androgen Receptor, clone MSVA-367R"
Antibody in 1X PBS with 0.05% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Androgen receptor (AR), encoded by the AR gene and also known as nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 4 (NR3C4), is a ligand-activated nuclear hormone receptor that mediates cellular responses to androgens such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. AR functions as a transcription factor that regulates genes involved in male reproductive development, prostate biology, and androgen signaling pathways. Androgen Receptor Antibody for IHC (clone MSVA-367R) recognizes the AR protein and is designed for immunohistochemistry detection of androgen receptor expression in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.Immunohistochemistry analysis of androgen receptor is widely used in research and pathology to visualize AR expression within intact tissue architecture. Because AR functions as a transcription factor, immunohistochemistry staining typically appears as distinct nuclear signal in androgen-responsive epithelial cells. This nuclear staining pattern allows clear identification of AR-positive cell populations within tissues and provides a reliable method for evaluating androgen signaling activity in histological samples. In normal tissues, androgen receptor immunohistochemistry staining is most prominent in organs that depend on androgen signaling. Strong nuclear staining is commonly observed in prostate epithelial cells and seminal vesicle epithelium, reflecting the central role of AR signaling in male reproductive physiology. Additional nuclear staining may be detected in selected epithelial or stromal cell populations in other tissues where androgen signaling contributes to cellular regulation.Tissue microarray immunohistochemistry analysis provides a powerful method to evaluate androgen receptor expression across large panels of human tissues. In TMA studies using Androgen Receptor Antibody for IHC (clone MSVA-367R), nuclear AR staining is readily detected in prostate tissue cores and other androgen-responsive tissues, while most unrelated organs show little or no staining. This restricted distribution highlights the tissue-specific nature of androgen receptor expression and allows clear interpretation of AR-positive versus AR-negative tissues in immunohistochemistry preparations.Analysis of cancer tissue microarrays further demonstrates the diagnostic value of androgen receptor immunohistochemistry. Strong nuclear staining is frequently observed in prostate adenocarcinoma samples, where AR signaling remains a key driver of tumor biology. In contrast, many non-prostatic tumor types show minimal or absent AR staining, enabling immunohistochemistry analysis to distinguish AR-expressing tumors from those lacking androgen receptor activity. Large-scale TMA screening therefore provides important context for evaluating AR expression patterns across diverse tumor types.Androgen Receptor Antibody for IHC (clone MSVA-367R) is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody developed to produce consistent nuclear staining in immunohistochemistry applications. When applied to formalin-fixed tissue sections, staining typically appears as nuclear HRP-DAB signal in androgen-responsive epithelial cells and AR-positive tumors. The antibody supports studies examining androgen receptor biology, androgen signaling pathways, and AR expression patterns across normal tissues and cancer tissue microarrays. This antibody is also part of a broader collection of IHC antibodies validated by tissue microarray analysis, supporting consistent staining across normal and cancer tissues.
