Anti-phospho-Connexin 43 (Ser368)

Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 antibody is directed against rat pS368 Connexin 43. Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum. This antibody is specific for phosphorylated Connexin 43. Minimal reactivity occurs against non-phosphorylated Connexin 43. Reactivity is completely blocked by treatment with ?-phosphatase. Reactivity against Connexin 43 occurs from rat sources. However, reactivity is also expected against bovine, canine, chicken, guinea pig, human, mouse and zebra fish sources. Protein function: Gap junction protein that acts as a regulator of bladder capacity. A gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell.
