FluoSite Anti-KLK2 Antibody, FITC-Labeled

This anti-KLK2 (Kallikrein 2) antibody is a purified monoclonal recombinant antibody, which is labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). This antibody has been tested by flow cytometry for binding to human KLK2 on Membrane KLK2 CHO Cell Line (BPS Bioscience #83060). FluoSite(TM) is a tag-based method for site-specific conjugation of antibodies with fluorophores, ensuring the labeling site is far from the antigen-binding domain to preserve antibody functionality. This precise, consistent labeling ensures the homogeneity of the labeled antibody preparation, making it ideal for flow cytometry and other high-sensitivity applications. Kallikrein-2 (KLK2) is a trypsin-like serine protease. This protein is a member of the glandular kallikrein family and is critical in the enzymatic process as it selectively cleaves the Met-Lys and Arg-Ser bonds in kininogen, thereby releasing Lys-bradykinin. This proteolytic activity contributes to the production of bradykinin, a bioactive peptide with multiple roles in regulating blood pressure, inflammation, and vascular permeability. It is selectively expressed by prostate epithelial cells and is regulated by the androgen receptor (AR). Its expression in prostate adenocarcinoma is nearly ubiquitous and high expression levels are maintained in metastatic castration-resistant PC (mCRPC). While traditionally believed to be secreted, recent research confirms it's also present on the cell surface. Due to the high selectivity of expression in the prostate, KLK2 is now considered a highly promising therapeutic target for prostate cancer treatment.
