Product information "FluoSite Anti-ITGA4-ITGB7 Antibody, PE-Labeled"
This human anti-ITGA4-ITGB7 (integrin alpha 4 beta 7) antibody is a purified monoclonal antibody, which is labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE). This antibody has been tested by flow cytometry for specific binding to human ITGA4-ITGB7 on the surface of ITGA4/ITGB7 HEK293 Cell Line (BPS Bioscience #83559). FluoSite(TM) is a tag-based method for site-specific conjugation of antibodies with fluorophores, ensuring the labeling site is far from the antigen-binding domain to preserve antibody functionality. This precise, consistent labeling ensures the homogeneity of the labeled antibody preparation, making it ideal for flow cytometry and other high-sensitivity applications. Integrins are heterodimeric glycoprotein receptors involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and motility. They are comprised of both a alpha and beta subunits and are classified based upon the ligand motif to which they bind. The Integrin alpha4beta7 (integrin alpha4 beta 7) (ITGA4/ITGB7) is widely expressed on lymphocytes where it acts as a T cell homing receptor that directs migration to the gut. This process is triggered by the binding of ITGA4/ITGB7 with its ligand, mucosal addressin-cell adhesion molecule 1 (MADCAM-1) which is expressed at high levels in inflamed intestinal tissue. In irritable bowel disease (IBD), ITGA4/ITGB7 is upregulated on activated T cells where it plays an important role in driving chronic inflammation. Integrin blocking therapies have been explored to decrease immune cell homing and subsequent tissue inflammation in ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), dry eye disease, and multiple sclerosis (MS).
