Anti-Zip4H (Tex11, Testis Expressed 11, Testis Expressed Sequence 11, TGC1, TSGA3)

Testis expressed sequence 11 (Tex11), also known as ZIP4 homolog, is a 947 aa X chromosome-encoded protein that is selectively expressed in primordial male germ cells. It associates with Nbs1 of the Mre11 protein complex which results in localization to areas of synaptonemal contact between meiotic chromosomes. During meiosis, ZIP4H/Tex11 promotes sister chromatid synapsis and crossover in response to programmed double stranded DNA breaks. ZIP4H/Tex11 deficiency leads to increased spermatocyte apoptosis and male sterility. Alternate splicing in mouse generates an additional isoform with a substitution (aa691-707) and truncation (aa708-947) at the C-terminus. Within aa768-947, mouse ZIP4H/Tex11 shares 44% and 73% aa sequence identity with human and rat ZIP4H/Tex11, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Detects ZIP4H protein from 293T cells transfected with the mouse ZIP4H gene with an approximate molecular weight of 110kD., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
