Mouse VE-Statin (vascular endothelial cell statin, also EGFL7) is a 41kD, secreted glycoprotein that belongs to an expanding family of EGF-like domain-containing proteins. It is an early marker of embryonic endothelial cells, and occurs in adult endothelium. Its secretion blocks smooth muscle migration. The mature molecule is 254 amino acids (aa) in length, and contains one N-terminal EMI domain (aa28-105), two EGF-like domains (aa 106-178), and a coiled-coil region (aa196-220). There is at least one isoform that shows a 13 aa deletion between aa236-248. Mature mouse VE-statin is 76% and 80% identical to dog and human VE-statin, respectively. , Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml. The detection limit fot recombinant mouse VE-Statin is ~25ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Chemiluminescent detection will increase sensitivity 5 to 50 fold., Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit fot recombinant mouse VE-Statin is ~7ng/well., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
