Product information "Anti-Urea Transporter A1 (Slc14a2. Solute carrier family 14 (urea transporter), member 2, Slc14a2T,"
UT-A1, a kidney-specific urea transporter is expressed in the renal collecting duct where it mediates transepithelial urea transport and is a target for regulation by vasopressin. Urea movement out of the collecting duct in the inner medulla of the kidney allows accumulation of urea in the medullary interstitium, thereby allowing maximum water reabsorption from the collecting ducts. (The antibody also recognizes a second protein from the UT-A gene driven, by transcription from an alternative promotor and expressed in the thin descending limb of Henle, viz. UT-A2.). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000. 1ug/ml detected UT-A1 in 20ug of rat kidney tissue lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using IgG goat x rabbit (HRP) as the secondary antibody., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
