Anti-UBP1, ID (UBP1, LBP1, Upstream-binding protein 1, Transcription factor LBP-1)

UBP1 functions as a transcriptional activator in a promoter context-dependent manner. Modulates the placental expression of CYP11A1. Involved in regulation of the alpha-globin gene in erythroid cells. Activation of the alpha-globin promoter in erythroid cells is via synergistic interaction with TFCP2 (By similarity). Involved in regulation of the alpha-globin gene in erythroid cells. Binds strongly to sequences around the HIV-1 initiation site and weakly over the TATA-box. Represses HIV-1 transcription by inhibiting the binding of TFIID to the TATA-box. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:10-1:50, Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:50, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
