Product information "Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase"
Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) catalyzes the rate-determining initial step in the biosynthesis of catecholamines such as dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline. The antibody is used to stain dopaminergeous and adrenergeous neurons as well as the chromaffine tissue of the adrenal medulla. Cell lines such as the PC 12 line, which is derived from a rat pheochromocytoma also, show positive reactions. In immunoblots of adrenal medulla tissue, the antibody recognizes a single protein band in the molecular weight range of 56-60kD. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoblot and Immunohistochemistry (peroxidase). Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoblotting: 0.05-0.1ug/ml readily detected 1-10ng of TH/lane using 125I-protein A. , Immunohistochemistry: 0.02-0.1ug/ml produced specific labeling of noradrenergic axons in primate cerebral cortex. Using horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Note: It is important to use a secondary antibody that has significant reactivity to sheep IgG1 since the majority of the sheep immunoglobulin is IgG1. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
