Thyroid Transcription Factor 1 (TTF1, also known as NKX2-1), a member of the NKX homeobox... more
Product information "Anti-Thyroid Transcription Factor 1 (TTF1, NKX2-1, NKX Homeobox Protein)"
Thyroid Transcription Factor 1 (TTF1, also known as NKX2-1), a member of the NKX homeobox transcription factor family, was initially discovered in the FRTL-5 rat thyroid cell line (1). Subsequent studies have shown that TTF1 plays an important role in differentiation and morphogensis of the developing thyroid, lung, and ventral forebrain (2). TTF1 controls the expression of several genes, some of which are tissue specific, such as: thyroglobulin, thyroperoxidase, and the thyrotropin receptor in the thyroid, and surfactant proteins and clara cell secretory protein in the lung (2,3). Investigators have found that TTF1 is expressed in malignant tumors of the thyroid and lung, and it is commonly used as a marker for both primary and malignant lung cancers (4-6). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence(Immunocytochemistry): 1:50, Western Blot: 1:1000. Incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
