Product information "Anti-TBX5 / T-box protein 5"
Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 ug/ml. TBX5 antibody targets T-box protein 5, a transcription factor encoded by the TBX5 gene that plays a central role in embryonic development and organ specification. T-box protein 5 belongs to the T-box family of DNA-binding proteins, which are characterized by a conserved T-box domain that mediates sequence-specific binding to regulatory regions of target genes. TBX5 functions primarily in the nucleus, where it regulates gene expression programs essential for proper formation of the heart and upper limbs during early development.Functionally, T-box protein 5 acts as a transcriptional regulator that coordinates developmental signaling pathways by activating or repressing downstream genes involved in cell fate determination, proliferation, and differentiation. TBX5 interacts with other transcription factors and cofactors to fine-tune gene expression in a spatially and temporally controlled manner. These interactions allow TBX5 to integrate multiple developmental cues and ensure coordinated morphogenesis of complex tissues.TBX5 expression is tightly regulated and shows strong developmental stage and tissue specificity. It is prominently expressed in cardiac progenitor cells and developing limb structures, reflecting its essential role in cardiogenesis and limb patterning. In mature tissues, TBX5 expression is generally lower but can still be detected in specific cell populations where it contributes to maintenance of differentiated states and tissue-specific gene expression profiles. A TBX5 antibody is useful for examining these expression patterns in developmental and disease-related contexts. From a clinical perspective, mutations or altered regulation of TBX5 are associated with congenital disorders, most notably Holt-Oram syndrome, which is characterized by cardiac defects and limb abnormalities. Dysregulation of TBX5-dependent transcriptional networks can disrupt normal developmental processes, leading to structural and functional defects. As a result, TBX5 has become an important target of interest in developmental biology, congenital disease research, and studies aimed at understanding transcription factor-driven gene regulation. At the molecular level, T-box protein 5 contains conserved regions required for DNA binding and protein-protein interactions, enabling it to assemble transcriptional complexes at target promoters and enhancers. Post-translational modifications and interaction with cofactors can influence its transcriptional activity and regulatory specificity. TBX5 antibody reagents support research focused on developmental gene regulation, transcriptional control mechanisms, and disease-associated alterations in developmental pathways, with NSJ Bioreagents providing reagents intended for research use.
