Anti-Synuclein-beta (Phosphoneuroprotein 14, PNP14, SYN)

Synuclein-beta is a 19kD, 134aa cytoplasmic phosphoprotein that is a member of a family of small, highly conserved proteins, including synucleins alpha, beta, and gamma (synoretin), localized predominantly in presynaptic nerve terminals in the brain. Synuclein-beta associates with Synuclein-alpha, preventing it from aggregating. Abnormal Synuclein-alpha aggregates form filamentous inclusions (Lewy bodies) in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's disease. Within the region used as an immunogen, human SNCB shares 99% aa identity with mouse and rat Synuclein-beta. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 2ug/ml using human hippocampal tissue, Immunohistochemistry: 8-25ug/ml using immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human brain (medulla and caudate putamen), Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
