Alpha-synuclein (amino acids 1-140), an acidic neuronal protein of 140 amino acids, is extremely heat-resistant and is natively unfolded with an extended structure primarily composed of random coils. Alpha-synuclein has been suggested to be implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, and more recently, to be an important regulatory component of vesicular transport in neuronal cells. Specially, the non-A beta component of amyloid plaques (NAC, amino acids 61-95) is a highly amyloidogenic peptide consisting of 35 amino acids which was first identified associated with senile plaques in the Alzheimer's disease brain. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Hybridization of mouse SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
