The protein encoded by this gene is a Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor that acts on kallikrein-related peptidases in the skin. Two transcript variants the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2010], Protein function: Serine protease inhibitor selective for kallikreins. Efficiently inhibits KLK4, KLK5, KLK6, KLK7, KLK12, KLK13 and KLK14. Doesn't inhibit KLK8. [The UniProt Consortium] Recommended dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 1/100 - 1/300. ELISA: 1/40000. Not yet tested in other applications.. Cellular localization: Secreted .
