Product information "Anti-Sphingolipid Receptor (Edg3/S1P3, Endothelial Differentiation G-protein Coupled Receptor 3, EDG"
Edg3 is a member of the EDG family of receptors which acts as a major functional receptor for a potent, extracellular lysolipid phosphoric acid mediator, S1P. It is the major S1P receptor subtype in the cardiovascular system, where it mediate the effects of S1P released from platelets, and possibly other tissues (such as brain). The receptor thus enhances endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration, playing a key role in developmental and pathological angiogenesis. The protein also mediates S1P-induced inflammatory response genes expression and can be used as drug targets to treat severe inflammation. Edg3 is expressed in many cell types, including endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells and most abundantly in heart, placenta, kidney, and liver. Human Edg3 gene is mapped to chromosome 9q22.1-q22.2. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
