Semaphorin 3E (previously SemaH) is a secreted protein belonging to the semaphorin family. Semaphorin 3E is highly expressed by a subset of motor neurons in developing somites, where it acts as a repulsive cue for PlexinD1-expressing endothelial cells of adjacent intersomitic vessels. Like other Semaphorin 3 proteins, the 775 aa human Semaphorin 3E contains a signal sequence, a Semaphorin domain, a C2-like Ig domain and a C-terminal basic domain. Disulfide-linked dimerization and furin-type proteolytic processing increase Semaphorin 3E bioactivity. Mature human and mouse Semaphorin 3E share 90% aa identity. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using rhSemaphorin 3E, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
