Anti-RIT2 (Ras-like Protein Expressed in Neurons, Ras-like Without CAAX Protein 2, RIN, ROC2)

GTP-binding protein Rit2 (Rit2, also Rin, Ras-like protein expressed in neurons, Ras-like without CAAX) is a 25kD member of the small GTPase superfamily and Ras family. Human Rit2 is 217aa in length. Like all small G-proteins, Rit2 contains five highly conserved domains (G1-G5) and acts as a molecular switch by alternating an active GTP-bound form and an inactive GDP-bound form. There are two isoforms for Rit2. Isoform 1 is the long form. Isoform 2 has an 11aa substitution for residues 143-153 found in isoform 1 and a deletion of aa154-217. Rit2 is expressed exclusively in neurons. In addition, Rit2 binds calmodulin through a C-terminal binding motif. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 25ug/ml, Western Blot: 2ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
