Anti-RGS18 (Regulator of G-protein Signaling 18, RGS13)

Regulator of G-protein signaling 18, RGS13, RGS signaling proteins are highly diverse and multifunctional proteins that act as inhibitors of G-protein signaling. RGS18, a 235aa protein, is the smallest member of this family. It is predominantly expressed in immune tissues and is characterized by the presence of a conserved 120A.A RGS domain. It is found to be expressed in lymphocytes, megakaryocytes and platelets and might play an important role in regulating G-protein mediated signaling in lungs and immune system. It specifically binds to GTP-bound G-alpha subunits and acts as a GAP protein, thus inhibiting G-alpha mediated signaling. It blocks MAP-Kinase activity and cAMP generation induced by G-alpha-i or G-alpha-q-coupled receptors. This protein is thought to play an important role in proliferation, differentiation and migration of megakaryocytes and platelets. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250-1:1000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
