Anti-Puumala virus glycoprotein antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. Cross reactivity with Puumala Virus Glycoprotein from other sources has not been determined. Protein function: Glycoprotein G1 and glycoprotein G2 interact with each other and are present at the surface of the virion. They are able to attach the virion to a cell receptor and to promote fusion of membranes after endocytosis of the virion. G1 contains an ITAM motif which is likely to dysregulate normal immune and endothelial cell responses and contribute to virus pathogenesis. [The UniProt Consortium]
