Anti-Protein Synthesis Initiation Factor 4E (eIF 4E), Serum

mRNA cap-binding protein involved in rate limiting step in protein synthesis. Undergoes phosphorylation at Ser209 in response to growth factors and other extracellular stimuli. Occurs as a complex with eIF-4BP's and as part of the eIF-4F complex. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250 using cell extracts. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
