Anti-Protein Kinase C eta (PKCeta)

PKCe (protein kinase C-epsilon) is an 87kD member of the novel PKC subfamily, AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family of enzymes. It is a widely-expressed Ca++-insensitive, phospholipid-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the phosphorylation of multiple proteins. Human PKCe is 737aa in length. It contains two general regions: a non-Ca++-binding plus lipid binding regulatory region (aa1-99, aa169-292), and an ATP-binding catalytic domain (aa408-668). Phosphorylation of PKCe on Thr566, aa368-729 activates the enzyme and increases its molecular weight to 92kD. One potential splice form shows a 114aa substitution for aa118-737. Over aa580-737, human PKCe is 98-99aa identical to mouse and canine PKCe, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 8-25ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C after receipt. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
