Anti-PACSIN1, NT (Protein Kinase C and Casein Kinase substrate in neurons protein 1, KIAA1379)

PACSINs, also known as syndapins, are a protein family consisting of three members that have been implicated in synaptic vesicular membrane trafficking and regulation of dynamin-mediated endocytotic processes (Cuajungco, 2006). It is presumed that all isoforms bind Dynamin, Synaptojanin 1 and N-WASP through their Src homology 3 domains. While PACSIN1 appears to be restricted to neural tissues, two PACSINs are more widespread with PACSIN2 being ubiquitously expressed and PACSIN3 present mainly in skeletal muscle, heart and lung (Modregger, 2001). PACSIN1 has been implicated as playing a central role in synaptic vesicle recycling (Kessels, 2004). Expected molecular weight is 51kD. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:100-1:500, Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Mouse brain lysate, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
