Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC), the first enzyme in polyamine synthesis, is a transcriptional target of YC and a modifier of APC -dependent tumorigenesis. It is located to 2p25. There is considerable genetic homology between a region of mouse chromosome 12 and the distal short arm of human chromosome 2. Complete amino acid sequence of human ornithine decarboxylase deduced from complementary DNA. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 4ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 8g/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with 1.2% sodium acetate. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
