Neuraminidase, also called NEU-1 or lysosomal sialidase, is a 45kD glycoprotein in the N-acetyl-a neuraminidase family. It is a member of a complex within the secretory lysosomes of melanosomes and hematopoietic cells that removes terminal sialic acids from glycosylated proteins and lipids. Mature human NEU-1 aa46-415 shares 86.5% aa identity with mouse and rat NEU-1. A 225aa splice variant shares aa206-415, but has an alternate N-terminus. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml, Immunoprecipitation: 25ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
