Product information "Anti-NEFM, Neurofilament, Medium Polypeptide"
Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light, medium, and heavy chains. Neurofilaments comprise the axoskeleton and functionally maintain neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. This gene encodes the medium neurofilament protein. This protein is commonly used as a biomarker of neuronal damage. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. , Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:128,000, Western Blot: 0.03-0.1ug/ml detects ~170-200kD band observed in Mouse Brain lysates (calculated MW of 102kD according to NP_005373.2). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercial sources., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
