Anti-Napsin-A

Napsin is a pepsin-like aspartic proteinase connected with maturation of surfactant protein B. There are two closely related napsins, napsin A and napsin B. Napsin A is expressed as a single chain protein. Immunohistochemical studies revealed high expression levels of napsin A in human lung and kidney but low expression in spleen. Napsin A is expressed in type II pneumocytes and in adenocarcinomas of lung. The high specificity expression of napsin A in adenocarcinomas of lung is useful to distinguish primary lung adenocarcinomas from adenocarcinomas of other organs. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells, Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml, Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1-2ug/ml/30min @ RT, Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein lysate, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Lung adenocarcinoma, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
