This gene encodes a dual-specificity phosphatase that acts on both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine. It is required for muscle cell differentiation and mutations in this gene have been identified as being responsible for X-linked myotubular myopathy. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. , Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000, Western Blot: ~70kD band observed in lysates of Human Muscle and of cell line HepG2 (calculated MW of 69.9kD according to NP_000243.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing MTM1 a band of approx. 65kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
