Anti-Munc13-2 (UNC13B, Munc13, Protein Unc-13 Homolog B, UNC13)

UNC13B is a 170kD member of the UNC13 family. It is 1591aa in length and contains three C2 domains, one MHD1 domain, one MHD2 domain, and one phorbol-ester/DAG-type zinc finger. Human UNC13B is 95% and 93% aa identical to mouse and rat UNC13B, respectively. UNC13B is expressed in brain and kidney cortical epithelial and mesangial cells. UNC13B plays a role in vesicle maturation during exocytosis as a target of the diacylglycerol second messenger pathway. It is involved in neurotransmitter release by acting in synaptic vesicle priming prior to vesicle fusion and participates in the activity-depending refilling of readily releasable vesicle pool (RRP). In addition, UNC13B may be involved in mediating some of the acute and chronic changes in mesangial cells produced by exposure to hyperglycemia. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml The detection limit for recombinant human Munc13-2 is ~5ng/well., Immunohistochemistry: 25ug/ml detects recombinant human Munc13-2 in paraffin-embedded human normal and cancer kidney sections., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
