Anti-mGluR1 (Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor)

Metabotropic glutamate receptor 1 (mGluR1 a) is a 130kD, 7-transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to group I of the C-family of G-protein coupled receptors. On neurons, mGluR1 is postsynaptic, associates with G q-like proteins, mobilizes intracellular Ca++, and influences ion channel activity. Mature mGluR1 is 1176aa in length and contains a 574aa N-terminal extracellular domain (ECD) (aa19-592). The ECD binds glutamate and forms either a covalent homodimer, or heterodimer with CaSR. There is one alternative splice form for human mGluR1 that shows a 20aa substitution for the C-terminal 308aa. over aa33-522, human mGluR1 shares more that 98% aa identity with mouse, rat and canine mGluR1. , Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 8-25ug/ml using immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human brain (caudate putamen)., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Mouse myeloma cells with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, CHO-derived, recombinant human mGluR1 (aa33-522). Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
