Melanoma gp100 a melanosomal matrix protein whose expression is closely correlated with cellular melanin content and which is a frequent melanoma tumor antigen recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes. It is a likely candidate gene for some cases of human oculocutaneous albinism not associated with known albinism loci. The gp100 protein is the most abundant glycoprotein in nucleated mammalian cells. The gp100 antigen is highly expressed in melanocyte cells, and recognized by cytotoxic T lynphocytes. The gp100 protein is known to initiate cellular immune response through the interaction with mature dendritic cells (DCs). GP100/PMel17 is a melanoma differentiation antigen, which is observed as the target of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) and has therefore been proposed as an immunotherapeutic agent in malignant melanoma. Applications: Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. , Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:128,000, Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml ~26kD band was observed in human skin lysates, corresponding to the M-beta fragment of the precursor protein. (Calculated MW of 70.3kD according to NP_008859.1.) In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing Human SILV a band of ~70kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
